Salvatore J. Sciacca, CPS Founder, Chairman, and President

Salvatore J. Sciacca is a leader in community association management, with more than 20 years experience. Founder of Chicago Property Services, Inc., (CPS), the premiere community management company in metropolitan Chicago for townhouses, condominiums, co-operatives, and homeowner associations, Mr. Sciacca also serves as its chairman and president. Mr. Sciacca is recognized for his extensive knowledge of capital planning, preventative maintenance, and cost-saving measures. At present, Mr. Sciacca manages a portfolio of 50 properties consisting of 1,500 units that has a combined value of $300 million.

Following rigorous exams, Mr. Sciacca became a Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA®) in 2002 by the Community Associations Institute (CAI), the top trade association in the field. He was designated an Association Management Specialist (AMS®) in 2004 through CAI. Mr. Sciacca is a member of CAI, the Association of Condominium Townhouse & Homeowners Association (ACTHA), and the Lincoln Square Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Mr. Sciacca is a member of the Via Como due Townhome Association, where the former Como Inn was located. By regularly attending national, regional, and local conferences, Mr. Sciacca remains at the forefront of best practices in the industry.

While serving on the board of directors for almost seven years at the 525 N. Ada Street Condo Association, a 56-unit building, Mr. Sciacca oversaw a $1 million renovation project, special assessment, and a three-year lawsuit against the developer. In addition to his expertise with condo conversions, Mr. Sciacca is also experienced in resolving parking issues, noise violations, and large-scale capital improvements.

Previously, Mr. Sciacca was a sales manager at RCN where he directed a team of ten sales people. For Rockwell International, a multibillion space and telecommunications equipment manufacturer, he was the senior test engineer. As the senior software engineer at Marconi Systems, Mr. Sciacca traveled internationally where he founded local markets in the United States for products manufactured in other parts of the world.

Mr. Sciacca often teams up with the legal experts at Kovitz Shifrin Nesbit to give seminars and presentations throughout the community about current issues. He has been featured in the Chicago Tribune and on CAI’s radio talk show.

Mr. Sciacca served as president of the Alumni Sharing and Knowledge Board at DePaul University in Chicago. As an active volunteer, Mr. Sciacca is a frequent panelist for alumni activities offering career guidance to graduating students. Mr. Sciacca is the former public relations chairman for the Italian American organization, Fieri, and member since 1995. Besides mentoring young Italian Americans, Mr. Sciacca belongs to the Mazzini Verde Club, an Italian American social organization.

Mr. Sciacca holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and a Master of Business Administration in international business from DePaul University.

Mr. Sciacca is married to Donna and has a young son, Vittorio.
